Dr. Yinka Oduwaiye's Biography.
I started my schooling days in Adeola model school,Offa Nigeria the late 1960s- later moved on to Offa Grammar school,Offa during Nigeria civil war years, I spend ten good years in Offa, Kwara State (this was where the foundation of my career in life started) I left OGS, Offa for Ahmadu Bello University , Zaria for the Medical school and qualified MBBS Zaria in 1986. I worked briefly in Lagos Nigeria as a Private GP/Medical Officer till late 1980s after the NYSC year in then Bendel state Nigeria.
I came over to the UK for my post-graduate medical studies in the late 1990.--. I trained in various hosiptals (in NHS) all over th British Isles and qualified as a surgeon FRCSED from the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh, Scotland in 1997. I later re-qualified in Family medicine and General practice in London. and completed a full year training in Diabetes and Endocrinology from King college Hospital London.
I currently work as GP with Interest(GPWSI) In Diabetes and Obesity and also does private work outside my NHS practice in London. I run a local charity both in the UK and Nigeria, SARAH AYOKA ODUWAIYE FOUNDATION (Breast Cancer Charity)in memory of my late mum who died of breast cancer in 1984 for patient health education/advocacy and support for all cancer patients, families and friends. I am a christain of Baptist faith and happily married with two children.
